To Cord and Annalisa...

I see wedding after wedding, each and every weekend; sometimes more than one per day, almost always more than one per weekend. I love love, so working in this industry is the perfect fit for me, but even with that infatuation, weddings become a blur; the bride walks down the aisle, everyone cries, they cut the cake, they dance, yadda yadda yadda.

This past weekend was different. Where I am usually floating from venue to venue, making sure everything is running smoothly, this weekend I was dedicated solely to an absolutely incredible couple. From a fantastically fun party of a rehearsal dinner to a gorgeous sunset ceremony with a mesmerizing string quartet, this weekend has reminded me of why I love what I do.

Our bride and groom (and family and friends) had worked their butts off to make this day perfect. I would guess they had not slept more than 3 hours each night because of their extravagant and stunning décor, but it was truly a labor of love. They put all their love and passion into this wedding, and you could tell.

When Annalisa and Cord were married at sunset on Saturday night, I may or may not have shed a little tear (I totally did). This couple has my heart. Their love has my heart. If you want to know what it is about this industry that I love, it is these two people, and others like them. Two people filled with such love and kindness that it radiates in everything they do.

I hope they couldn’t tell, but when it came time to line everyone up and send them on their way up the aisle, my legs were shaking. I always get a little nervous when it comes to coordinating, but this time it was different for me. I had watched their hard work culminate in a gorgeous reception and ceremony space, and I know they wanted this moment to be perfect, and that was on me. Like I said before, I love this couple. I love all the couples that I am privileged enough to work with, but these two people, I just can’t say enough about their love and their heart.

The ceremony went off without a hitch, and it was everything they hoped for it to be (I hope). Candles lined the aisles, the sun was setting in the background, the string quartet serenaded the guests as the bridal party made their way up the aisle, the twinkle lights in the trees shone on all the guests to create a beautifully romantic atmosphere.

Once it was over, when they made their way back into the reception hall, I might have stolen a bit of a moment from them when I overheard Cord telling her, “You look gorgeous, babe.” Made my heart melt right there (it could very well still be in a puddle on the floor in The Courtyard, I don’t know).

Having that moment to themselves (minus a coordinator trying to blend into the background), is so important, and I am so happy they had it. I’m so happy they had the majority of their moments here with us.

Cord and Annalisa, I am over the moon happy for the two of you, and I am beyond ecstatic that I could help make this day memorable and special for you. Thank you for having me, and for making me feel like part of the family. Thank you for reminding me why I love this industry so much.
